Hello,

So here’s the list…

It’s meant to be a list of songs that would be great to play after the new years eve count down to celebrate the new year.

Note. I’ve written this list keeping in mind that this is what I think the general public would enjoy, its not what I would have picked personally. Maybe ill write that one some day…

5 – O Yeah by End of Fashion

4 – Forever Young by Youth Group

I guess it could be depressing for old people… but for those (young and old) who do enjoy life and want to live a special moment forever, I guess this song is for you.

3 – Here It Goes Again by Ok Go

here_it_goes_again

A great upbeat song thats sure to get everyone excited for the new year! The first verse has a sense of carelessness as everyone is drinking and getting ready for the new year.

It could be ten, but then again,
I can’t remember half an hour since a quarter to four.
Throw on your clothes, the second side of Surfer Rosa,
and you leave me with my jaw on the floor. Hey!

As another year passes another year comes along, here we go again.

2 – The New Year by Death Cab For Cutie

the_new_year

Quite cliche… but i struggle to be original. I imagine this song playing after an amazing count down to the new year. The opening lyrics

“So this is the new year…”

leading everyone into the new year as we stare upwards watching the fireworks light up the night time sky.

However i guess this isnt the most inspiring or exciting song that everyone would be able to enjoy, death cab being a kind of a… niche band, thus it does not claim the number one spot.

1 – Kids by MGMT

Layout 1

Yep… MGMT.

Maybe some of you may know of my love/hate relationship with MGMT, however when picking songs for this list i’ve tried to be as least bias as i can.

Kids is basically the perfect song for the new year, it’s aerie introduction with children counting down from 5 being the perfect start to the count down for the crowd to chant before reaching 12am.

The song is generally more up beat then my preferred choice (The New Year) and since MGMT have become such a trend within the mass radio listening market, it is a song everyone will defiantly enjoy, claiming its position as number 1.

Hope you have enjoyed this.

Hi everyone,

I guess its well into the new year (two weeks infact…), and this will be my first blog for 2009.

I’ve come the a realization that the end of the year means you can expect alot of one thing. What is this one thing you ask?

Lists… lots and lots of lists

Whether they are a ranking of the top selling movies, or even a list of the top ten lists. (strange but… they do exists) It is something about an opinionated based, bias and sometimes outrageous list that intrigues people into reading them. (Even if they do not agree with everything on the list)

Picking up on this current(?) trend I thought that maybe I could compose a list and thus increase the popularity of my blog. Maybe resulting in alot more comments.

However, I’ve stumbled upon a problem… this problem is trying to think of a list that would intrigue people but at the same time remain original, staying away from the overused and typical “Top 10 Albums of 2008″ list.

I guess I am just not cut out for list making…

I will try and come up with a interesting list tomorrow, and leave it here for today.

Thanks for reading.

As 2008 comes to a close, i couldnt wait any longer, so i changed my theme to hopefully a brighter and more optimistic new year.
