” I think you caught me on the downslide, downturn
I was busy writing with a pen and paper thin dream
And all your plastic people with plastic hearts and smiles
They had the worst intentions all along after all, all, all , all “
Hey guys, if this blog was ever to become an episodal (is that a word?) vlog of some sort with an intro theme and all i think today’s song would be pictures in an exhibition by death cab for cutie. Its got a bit of everything in there… emo (I think you caught me on the downslide…), kind of an metaphor thing to blog writing (i was busy writing with a pen and paper…) and lastly a bit about the people who bag me out though the comments in my blogs (they had the worst intentions all along after all…)
Umm bit of a musical theme today for my blog lol and i think ill start with soundwave.
Soo… soundwave… where to start… well ill start of by saying that i completely regret not going to this years… ALL the bands that i have missed and will maybe never have the chance to see again… and comparing this year’s line up to next years… this years was defiantly better…
But i better stop myself complaining about the past there and start complaining about the future.
So… WHY OH WHY do they have to make FOREVER THE SICKEST KIDS and HELLOGOODBYE clash in the timetable… ( i can’t be bothered to explain whats going on here, so if you don’t really know… im sorry… )
It just isnt fair… and to prove to you just how much this clash has been bothering me i will try and recreate for you my whimsical attempt to change my future and take a hold of my destiny, future, fate.
Me (on the soundwave forums):
heyo
quick question
is there any reason why forever the sickest kids have to clash with hellogoodbye in sydney?
A reply from a stranger:
because that’s how they roll
Me:
damn…
why do they have to roll so gay…
And that was it LOL two posts with only one person actually acknowledging my comment.
I guess beggars can’t be choosers… (or maybe everything happens for a reason)

Tuesday… the day after the Death Cab concert and the day of the myspace secret show. Again, tuesday usually means another day at work… however this tuesday was different, tuesday was the day of the myspace secret show. unlike monday i had already preplanned what to wear for the day which made getting ready in the morning alot quicker.
The day started off as usual… i caught the bus to work (stood the whole way) and then sat there in front of the computer at work and did some BAU (business as usual?) stuff. however unlike monday the hours dredged on for what felt like years… i think this was mostly due to the fact that i had taken the 2nd half of the day of to go see the band even though they started playing at 5.
After finishing off at work i walked all the way to uni met up with a friend then caught the train to museum and walked to the oxford art factory.
There i met up with mark, suds and gino… and this is where the real story begins… (told from my point of view)
Earlier that day while i was at work, mark and gino headed over to oxford art factory early. unsure if the band was already inside, the two walked into the venue and thats when they saw the band eating chinese!! before mark had the chance to yell out “BEN” (mark regretted not doing this soo bad…) one of the bouncers approached them and yelled “beat it kids” scaring the two away.
Later on suds arrived, and the three ran around the back of the oxford art factory and tried to get inside so that they could see the band. suds being the person he is was dressed nicely for the occasion and was the one who would have the best chance of not being questioned whilst attempting to get inside the premises, and so he walked inside. once inside suds looked around to find the band unable to find the band he asked someone if they could take his album cover and get it signed by the band and he was…
Successful…
Yep… he was the only person to actually actually get something signed by the band… lucky…
And so, i had finally arrived, quickly called around to the back entrance by mark and gino, i was also informed that i was dressed “nicely”. “nicely” enough (since i had come from work) to walk in to the art factory from the back entrance. nervous that i would get kicked out, i slowly stepped in through the double doors… and much like suds… i could not locate the band… which resulted in me giving up and choosing to get a good spot in the line rather then spending time walking around the complex aimlessly…
The actual concert was GREAT! although they only played for 30 minutes, these 30 minutes were magical as i stood almost right in front of the band and listen to their incredible ability… to manipulate their instruments to create such beautiful melodies.

I’ve come to a sad realisation that i have an inability to describe my day in the form of text (recount format? im not sure…) and aslo that i detest doing so… so do not expect alot of “recounting my day” blogs entry in the future.
I consider this entry to be one of the worst i have ever written.
