i never saw coming…

Hey everyone,

As you all know, tomorrow is new year eve.

To me thinking of the new year makes me look back at this year and think of all the things that have happened… And i’ve got to say 2008 was a year that i never saw coming…

I think a fun way to re-cap my year is to recount the ways that i have met some of the new friends that i have made at uni.

IVAN: Basically the one thing that made me decide that i was going to try and make friends with this guy, was that at the very beginning of uni camp, where we were seated in the gymnasium hall for an introductory speech by the people who were running the camp site. The Lady stated that we should all be careful because the camp site was prone to floods and fires, and this guy who was sitting next to me (Ivan) says “what about flooders? (a pun combining the words floods and fire)” And that was it, that joke cracked my up so much, that it had led me to the belief that this guy was very cool and funny, and that i had to make friends with him.

GORDON: This one was an easy one. Again at uni camp on the very first day, our first activity was to fill in questionnaire on our other camp mates. As i was walking around trying to find someone to ask what colour thier eyes were. This guy pops out of no where and asks me very assertively “ARE YOU A HALFIE?” surprised by this sudden attack i slowly responded “yes…” and quickly walked away. Later on we became good friends.

LENNY(or LEONARD): The first time i met this guy was on a train ride home with Ivan. We were catching the train home where we met up with Lenny and his friend Nikki. At the time Lenny had a blonde streak though his fringe and i was basically scared shitless of him. It was not until the seconds semester of uni until i truely got to know him and came to an understanding that he only looks scary and that infact he is a quite friendly character.

Because I am running out of time ill leave it here and maybe continue doing this for the rest of my friends later… I would like to end by saying that I’ve recently heard from a friend that there is a saying that goes something like:

“how you spend new years eve is how you are going to spend the rest of the next year”

Well… if that rings any truths my next year will consist of me spending alot more time with my family then i did this year, as i am spending new years eve with my family, which is a pretty good thing i guess.

Congratulations Death Cab for Cutie Ticket Winner

Hey guys,

So much has happened over the last 48 or something hours… i dont really know where to start… But i guess i should start typing something or else i will continue to just sit here procrastinating…

So… as you can see (or more like i hope that you have noticed) the what im wearing page is up and running! and thats kinda cool except i was meant to do the what im wearing thing at least every second day but since i was in a horrible mood when i got home last night i didnt take a picture of myself and it looks like this might turn into a once a week thing rather then a every second day thing… but neither the less i hope you enjoy it.

Umm…. oh ok… i realized after writing my previous blog that i dont really like the direction that my blog is heading like this whole “im talking about nothing business…” so just as a public notice announcement kind of think i want to tell you guys that i am going to try and steer away from blogs like that and try to write ones that are more relevant? i dunno…

On a completely different topic, one of my friends, Lenny, has recently recorded a vlog (video blog)… and uhh… what can i say… its beautiful. Not once whilst watching did i think “wow this is boring” the whole time i was captivated by his ability to drive and talk at the same time (something that i am incapable of doing) but yeah i know what youre thinking “so what about Lenny’s blog or vlog this is your blog Tim talk about your own stuff” and yeah your right i should be talking about my own stuff so what i was going to talk about was whether if i should make my own vlog tomorrow…

The reason i am asking you this is because in Lenny’s vlog there was a part about me, one on how he catagorized me as scene and his explanation of why he did it… this brought the thought/idea of making a video response, maybe a similar driving video blog…

Recently ive been playing a whole lot of Brawl. This is mainly due to the absolute humiliation that Ricky put me through on Melee earlier this week. But not only did i lose to Ricky (who i consider an actual pro) i lost to Ivan and Billy as well… so with this new found determination i have been hard at work training myself on brawl so that when that day comes, the day where we are playing Brawl not Melee, i will be prepared, readied and poised to defeat my adversaries.

Now to the main topic of discussion. Umm… i dont know if you guys remember… but i think about 2 posts ago i mentioned my participation in a competition to win tickets to see (one of my favourite bands) death cab for cutie LIVE and intimate at a myspace secret show. And so… if you do recall this entry you might remember me saying that i hated myself for my stupid response.

WELL IVE GOT GOOD NEWS!

I WON.

Yep thats right with my crappy response, somehow, i won… this being the first ever thing that i have ever won (on this caliber) in my life i think that i deserved it. With this i basically have an action packed week a head of me… firstly ive got the death cab for cutie concert at the enmore that i am going to where me and my friends just managed to get row v seats for… for this ill have to figure out a way to bring a change of clothes to work and also find a way to leave work early so i can get to the enmore in time…

Then on tuesday ill have the myspace secret show! where ill again have to find a way to leave work early… well actually im planning to work half a day on tuesday then working another half day on thursday after uni to make up for it. Also on tueday i am planning to bring my acoustic guitar to the secret show to see if i can get ben gibbard to sign it!!!

well its 3:41am and im staying up because of stupid reasons that im not going to explain to you… so i think ill just leave it here for today… or tomorrow… or whatever it is…

Shaky Beginnings

Dear Readers,

After posting my previous blog, i realised that blogging can not be kept on a regular schedule. To put it in a way that everyone can understand, blogging is like playing string figures if you only use your fingers to manipulate the stings then you can only achieve a certain level of sting figure “proness” it is only when you utilise your mouth, wrist, and feet that you become an actual “pro“.

So after realising this, ive decided to blog as regularly as possible. This way I can get most out of my blog posts and recount all of my stories instead of picking the best ones and talking about them. I know that at the moment my blog is at the establishment stage in the blogging life cycle and that this is shaky beginnings, so i think that this would be the best time to experiment and make changes to how my blogging experience will work out.

Back onto the actual blogging side of things… Recently ive been wearing my contact lenses again, and after having mixed responses from my friends on which i should wear (my glasses or my contacts) i have decided to create a poll.

I know that it is a bit hard to vote with out the pictures, so as soon as i get some decent “pixz” of myself i will update this entry and put them up. This whole talk about polls and pictures has gotten me curious… maybe i should have two polls one for the glasses or contacts ordeal and maybe one for the whole SCENE arguement… (yes… its still on my mind)

Anyways before i finish off, i wanted to talk to you about two things. Firstly the sudden influx of blogging among my peers… EVEN IF they have had their blogs longer then mine, I personally feel they have left their blogs abandoned and empty… and until recently when i had mentioned the starting of my own blog to them their blogs have re-blossomed or maybe re-animated and come to life. However, my point is not to emphasize my (probably flawed) argument of my friends copying me but to show you guys their blogs:

- Ivan - the lengthy blog writer

- Lenny - the master of the blogging with real blogging topics, such as the discussion of his top ten films

- Adrian - the fussy one e.g. “Chocolate-milk obsessed (but I hate the normal stuff)”

All three of these guys have aspects within their blogs that i aspire to and one day hope to achieve.

Secondly and finally id like to talk about the songs that i mentioned on Wednesday. But to tell you the truth i feel like i have run out of time and yet again ill have to leave it for another day…
