Hello,

Here is a quick story about an awkward encounter.

Last Monday I had my finance mid semester exam. Unexpectedly I found the exam quiet easy (maybe this was because we were allowed a cheat sheet) regardless, I had found myself in the unusual situation of finishing an exam early.

So then I was confronted with the choice of either leaving early and waiting for my friend Nam down stairs, or to sit there and wait for my friend Nam to finish and walk out together. Coming to a conclusion that both ways involved waiting for Nam I has chosen to sit there quietly until the exam had ended. (Nam also finished soon after and wasn’t too worried about waiting because he had a chance to look at NamGirl from afar XD)

However, this wait was a good twenty minutes. I needed something to do to stop me from double guessing my answers and changing them. So I decided to visit the bathroom.

Unfortunately, it was only after I had stood up and walked over to the bathroom that I had remembered that a supervisor will walk in with you when you visit the bathroom to make sure that you are not cheating.

So what was I to do? A thousand thoughts started rushing through my head, one of them being walking into a cubicle and start swishing the water inside the toilet bowl with my hands to mimic the sound of… you know… going to the toilet. After walking very slowly to the entrance of the bathroom. I decided to just wash my hands.

And so I started washing them.

As I continued I glanced over at the old man though the reflection of my mirror where I had noticed that he had the most suspicious face on in the world. Trying to look in conspicuous I stopped washing my hands and walked around the corner to dry them at the dryer.

Big mistake.

The old man then followed me around the corner and asked me to pull our my pockets.

Here, I panicked and did as I was told. Again, I had forgotten that I had left my bus ticket in my pocket unsure if i was going to get into trouble for this, I slowly pulled out the ticket. Without notice, the old man had already snatched it from my hand only to realizing that it was only bus ticket. I was set free.

So yeah that was awkward…

Hi,

Skipping all formalities im just going to jump right in.

Im sitting here, listening to The Maine and its raining outside. While I was walking around, I noticed that it was a pretty gloomy day today, with all the rain and grey clouds in the sky…. It wasn’t until I put my earphones on and pressed play my ipod that I noticed that even on rainy days, the simple things can look just as amazing.

For example, I was walking down George street on my way to the bus stop with my broken umbrella in one hand and my ipod in the other. The rain was pouring down as pressed play on my ipod (on shuffle) and Inaudible Melodies by Jack Johnson had come on, and just at THAT moment I happened to notice a couple of brown maple tree leaves falling down from a tree in unison something like synchronised skydivers or something. (if they exist)

But yeah, its simple things like this that has been capturing my attention lately. I’m not really sure if this is due to the fact that my brain has become incredibly bored with my life or if im subliminally trying to be more poetic or artistic or emo or gay or something (I don’t know how this makes sense but…)

A couple of other things similar to what happened today that I have noticed while staring into nothing or walking from one place to another are, a hamburger shaped bicycle bell on a bicycle chained to a lampost, I couldn’t resist the temptation to walk over and start ringing the bell a few times even though this was against Jasmine’s approval, two Labrador puppies playing/fighting on a hill with no owners or people insight and what had looked like a homeless person, quietly approaching me from behind and blowing bubbles into my face as I stood waiting for my bus alone.

I guess stranger things have happened.

I hope this qualifies as a reasonable blog entry.

Hey everyone,

As you all know, tomorrow is new year eve.

To me thinking of the new year makes me look back at this year and think of all the things that have happened… And i’ve got to say 2008 was a year that i never saw coming…

I think a fun way to re-cap my year is to recount the ways that i have met some of the new friends that i have made at uni.

IVAN: Basically the one thing that made me decide that i was going to try and make friends with this guy, was that at the very beginning of uni camp, where we were seated in the gymnasium hall for an introductory speech by the people who were running the camp site. The Lady stated that we should all be careful because the camp site was prone to floods and fires, and this guy who was sitting next to me (Ivan) says “what about flooders? (a pun combining the words floods and fire)” And that was it, that joke cracked my up so much, that it had led me to the belief that this guy was very cool and funny, and that i had to make friends with him.

GORDON: This one was an easy one. Again at uni camp on the very first day, our first activity was to fill in questionnaire on our other camp mates. As i was walking around trying to find someone to ask what colour thier eyes were. This guy pops out of no where and asks me very assertively “ARE YOU A HALFIE?” surprised by this sudden attack i slowly responded “yes…” and quickly walked away. Later on we became good friends.

LENNY(or LEONARD): The first time i met this guy was on a train ride home with Ivan. We were catching the train home where we met up with Lenny and his friend Nikki. At the time Lenny had a blonde streak though his fringe and i was basically scared shitless of him. It was not until the seconds semester of uni until i truely got to know him and came to an understanding that he only looks scary and that infact he is a quite friendly character.

Because I am running out of time ill leave it here and maybe continue doing this for the rest of my friends later… I would like to end by saying that I’ve recently heard from a friend that there is a saying that goes something like:

“how you spend new years eve is how you are going to spend the rest of the next year”

Well… if that rings any truths my next year will consist of me spending alot more time with my family then i did this year, as i am spending new years eve with my family, which is a pretty good thing i guess.
